Transporting goods from Thailand to Viet Nam through Cha Lo international border gate

For the first time, import-export turnover through Cha Lo international border gate (Quang Binh province) reached 113 million USD in the first 10 months of this year.

According to the Cha Lo Economic Zone Management Board in Quang Binh province, import-export turnover through Cha Lo international border gate reached 113 million USD in the first 10 months of this year. The volume of goods passing through the border gate were 636,026 tonnes, 59 percent increase, generating tax revenues of 114.25 billion VND, increase 85 percent.

The results showed that road 12A and Cha Lo international border gate are an advantage for domestic and foreign businesses to choose them as the route for transport of goods from Thai northeastern and central Lao provinces to Viet Nam for shipment to third countries.

The Friendship bridge 3 spanning the Mekong river and connecting Thailand’s Nakhonphanom province and northeastern region and the Lao province of Khammoune is expected to open to traffic on November 11. Accordingly, the international route from Thailand, Laos to Viet Nam via Quang Binh province will be the shortest road of about 300km. This offers an opportunity for Cha Lo international border gate to develop and become a bustling border gate in the Viet Nam-Laos border line./.
