Historical documents on Viet Nam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands

The Hoang Sa (Paracel) and the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands are two archipelagoes offshore Viet Nam. The closest point of the Hoang Sa Islands is 120 nautical miles east of the Re Island, a coastal island of Viet Nam. Meanwhile, the closest point of the Truong Sa Islands is about 250 nautical miles to the east of Cam Ranh Bay, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
