Naval ship HQ730 dispatched by the National Committee on Search and Rescue timely came and rescued fishing vessel PY-91219TS and 10 fishermen on board on Nov. 29, Phu Yen province’s border guard said. The naval ship, captained by Captain Do Hong Quan, took the ship and fishermen to safety at Song Tu Tay island (Truong Sa archipelago).

At noon Nov. 28, the fishing vessel PY-91219TS got stuck on reef, 30 miles from Song Tu Tay island. Captain Pham Xuan Chanh (residing in Ward 6, Tuy Hoa City) and 9 fishermen on board sent an SOS in exhaustion after hours trying to save the vessel.

At the same time, another fishing vessel QNg-94094 TS with 11 fishermen including the vessel owner, 54-year-old Mai Xuan Thuy from Pho Chau commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province, was also hit by an unidentified vessel on the southern sea.
