Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on July 10 at the Party Central Committee’s office, according to the Foreign Ministry. At the reception, Hillary Clinton stressed that the strong development in economics, trade and education relations between the two countries is encouraging US enterprises to invest in Viet Nam.

When assuming the role of a coordinator for ASEAN-China relations at the end of July, Thailand plans to hold a series of meetings with the countries in dispute over sovereignty over the East Sea to identify their needs and common stances.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on July 14 hosted separate receptions for Japanese Foreign Minister Gemba Koichiro, who was in Ha Noi for the fourth session of the Viet Nam-Japan Cooperation Committee.

A representative from the National Boundary Commission under the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry made the statement while answering reporters’ questions on a China News website report on July 12 that 30 fishing ships of Hainan province departed from Sanya port to catch fish around Chu Thap reef of Truong Sa archipelago.
