Nine Sailors Rescued as Ship Sinks in Hai Phong

Officers and soldiers of the Cat Hai Border Post in the northern city of Hai Phong have rescued nine crew members of a cargo ship which sank in Cat Hai district on April 10. The HP 2106 cargo ship with a capacity of 95 tonnes sank at 6 pm while carrying 80,000 bricks.

As soon as it received the information about the accident, the Cat Hai Border Post sent one ship and two canoes with 13 officers to the accident area and saved five sailors. By 8 pm they had rescued four other victims drifting 4 nautical mile to the southeast of the accident area.

The Command of Border Guard of Hai Phong city promptly praised the officers and soldiers of the post for their support to the ship as well as their efforts in providing rescue and search services at sea./.
