Under a detailed master plan on Viet Nam’s coastal roads to 2020, the section passing through Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces will stretches as far as 400km. These localities have been mobilising sources to invest in building a coastal road route in a bid to effectively tap and use marine resources as well as resources in coastal regions, to serve their socio-economic development.

After a trip to four island communes, namely An Son, Nam Du, Lai Son and Hon Tre of Kien Hai district, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of the southern province of Kien Giang Pham Vu Hong said that it is quite possible for the island district to become a marine tourist destination just as captivating as Phu Quoc island. Therefore, the province’s departments, sectors and Trade-Tourism Promotion Centre need to help Kien Hai bring this advantage into play

Members of the fishing group No.1 at An Su hamlet, An Son commune, Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province enjoyed a big Tet (traditional Lunar New Year) of the Year of the Snake (2013), wrapping up a successful year with bumping catches. In the past year, the group brought home nearly 800 tonnes of seafood, worth over 80 billion VND.

The nights at Truong Sa archipelago can be peaceful with soft waves but also wild at times with raging storms. A trawler is so small in such dark nights on an immense ocean. But fishermen never feel lonely at Truong Sa thanks to lighthouses that help boats maneuver around underwater rocks and coral reefs to find fish.
