Youth take action in support of armed forces

The launch ceremony for the event “Young people and the Homeland’s border” was held by the Quang Ninh provincial Youth Union in Ha Long city on December 19.

The program was held in order to raise awareness of young people, students and people about border and island security and the glorious tradition of Vietnamese People's Armed Forces. At the same time, this activity aims to create a movement among young people in Quang Ninh province in support of soldiers and people in border and island region.

The launch ceremony was attended by almost 1,000 young people from Ha Long city and the provincial military headquarters. Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Youth Union, told reporters that from now to Lunar New Year Festival (Tet), young people and students are encouraged to collect books, newspapers, gifts to offer to soldiers. They will also show their regard for armed forces on duty by writing letters to them. In everyone’s thoughts are those soldiers who cannot enjoy Tet with their family.
